Art for Azzy_darling’s story Inhale-Exhale for MEBB 2013.

I am so happy that I can finally post this. Not only because it is a good occasion to share work, but also because I really worked long on this one.

Her story is really cute and I enjoyed reading it. A love story about falling in love and fighting for it, in which Shepard is a gladiator and Kaidan was intrigued by his performances. In and outside the arena.

When I first picked her story, I had a image very similar to this one in my head. After talking to her (She’s a wonderful person, btw) and discussing a few details, I had a pretty good idea what I wanted to do. And while I read the story, my vision finally took form.
Mixing the ancient gladiator armor with sci-fi was really fun. I could do a lot of things I’ve never tried before. Creating that sci-fi plus ancient Rome arena was really challenging, because I wanted it to look logical. I thought a lot about how they would perform there and came up with this.

Anyway, it was a great time and I’m so grateful for this opportunity.
